“WHICH THINGS ALSO WE SPEAK”
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God (1 Corinthians 2:12).
One of the reasons the Holy Spirit came into your life is to help you know the things of God and make you conscious of what God has freely given to you. 1 Corinthians 2:11-13 explains this with striking clarity. It says, “… the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.”
Now, notice something absolutely remarkable in the 12th and 13th verses. There are those who criticise Christians for speaking or confessing the Word, especially when it concerns prosperity, health, victory, or dominion in Christ. But their problem is ignorance of the Word. There are only two directions: if you’re not proclaiming prosperity and health, then you’ve endorsed lack and sickness. There’s no middle ground.
3 John 1:2 proves that God is interested in your complete prosperity: your material prosperity, and the prosperity of your soul: “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” Not only does the Holy Spirit reveal these and other amazing truths of your heritage and identity in Christ to you, but He also teaches you to speak them.
Christianity is for talkers. If you don’t speak what God has given you, you’re not practising Christianity as revealed in Scripture. We talk our inheritance. We declare our identity. We profess our heritage. We boldly declare what we have and who we are in Christ. That’s the victory principle—saying what God has said: “…he hath said… So that we may boldly say…” (Hebrews 13:5-6).
As you keep saying what God has said, the realities of the Kingdom are manifested in your life. Therefore, declare your victory. Affirm your dominion. Speak your prosperity and health. Speak the Word boldly and watch your life go from glory to glory. Hallelujah!
PRAYER / CONFESSION
Dear Father, thank you for the Holy Spirit who teaches me to speak the things you have freely given to me. My mouth is filled with your Word, and I speak boldly. I walk in victory, dominion, and prosperity, and my life is transformed from glory to glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
If you’re blessed by this devotional, believing every word you heard by faith in your heart, and would love to make Jesus the lord of your life, then speak the confessions below out loud, and mean them with your heart:
“O Lord God, I believe with all my heart in Jesus Christ, Son of the living God. I believe He died for me and God raised Him from the dead. I believe He’s alive today. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life from this day. Through Him and in His Name, I have eternal life; I’m born again. Thank you Lord, for saving my soul! I’m now a child of God. Hallelujah!”
